Obituary of Herbert J. Stack Jr.

Herbert John Stack 89, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2021 , surrounded by loving family members with him in presence or in spirit. Herb was born on August 25th, 1931 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Herbert and Beatrice Stack. He is survived by his wife Rose (Faubl) Stack, children Eileen (Stack) Olsen, Thomas Stack, Paul Stack, and grandchildren Lindsey (Olsen) Mochel, Dana Olsen, Kristen Stack, and sister Rose Marie (Stack) Donahue. Herb graduated from the Holy Family Academy High School in Bayonne, New Jersey. He is a military veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Navy for four years. He went on to obtain his Bachelor Degree of Science in Business from Rutgers University and spent 42 years working for the Texaco Corporation. He will be fondly remembered as a person who lit up the room with his warm, welcoming and infectious smile . The love for his friends and family shone through his every action and the stories he shared . Entertaining was Herb's passion and he especially enjoyed singing Irish songs. He was gentle, kind and sincere and always made sure to be a good listener. He had a quiet, unwavering presence, and strong devotion to his loved ones. Services will be held at a later date not yet determined.
