What a wonderful tribute! Your mom sounds like such an absolutely amazing lady, not just for her obvious independence, brilliance, and assertiveness; but even more for her great spirit and her loving and supportive ways. I am so sorry that she has had to leave you, but please remember and find comfort in knowing that love never dies. May all the wonderful memories you shared give you comfort and strength in this very difficult time.

Vivienne (Mrs. Bailey for years to me) was such a sweet person. She was a wonderful Girl Scout Leader when Jayne and I were in the same troop. She had a way of making you feel very welcomed and appreciated. The time in my life when I most appreciated this was the day Mr. Bailey offered me a place to stay the night my house burned down. She immediately welcomed me to her home and helped make a very difficult situation tolerable. I'll miss her much, but will always think of her when I see the stunning big blue butterfly on my office wall that used to be hers. The word "butterfly" also means "soul" in many languages (e.g., Greek "psyche"), and this beautiful butterfly perfectly reflects her beautiful spirit.
