Michael James Conn, 70 of Vancouver, Washington passed away on October 28, 2017 in Vancouver Washington after fighting complications with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
Celebration of Life will be held November 19, 2017 at Gresham Eagle 117 NE Roberts Gresham, OR 97030 from 12pm to 5pm. There will be a bartender and waitress on staff.
In Lieu of flowers and cards we are asking for toy donations for Angels on Wheels Mikes favorite fundraiser. You may bring them to the Celebration of Life or drop them off at Royals Barber Shop 3303 NE Minnehaha St #B Vancouver WA 98662.
Mike was born in Portland Oregon to Walter J and Dorothy V (Wikander) Conn on February 24, 1947. He went to Parkrose High School and graduated 1965. From there he married his true love Patricia A (Kramer).
Mike worked as a transport driver for Franz U.S. Bakery in Portland Oregon for 34 years. He was a teamster; he served for Teamsters local 305 as a Board of Trustee and shop steward for many years.
Mike’s hobbies included rebuilding and customizing classic automobiles, and tinkering around as a mechanic. He was the past president and other board positions for The Multnomah Hot Rod Council, Northwest Lowriders Car Club and co-chair person for The Portland Roadster Show. He belonged to many car clubs, and supported all car club activities that he could. He was awarded honorable member of The Multnomah Hot Rod Hall of Fame. His interests were being involved in communities events and fundraising for Angels on Wheels annual toy drive, NW Innovative services, and other nonprofit organizations.
Mike enjoyed talking to everyone, always whistling and smiling, helping out whenever he could. Mike loved everyone who was around him and them in return. Mike will be missed greatly, most genuine person to have in our life.
Mike is preceded in death by his Mother; Dorothy V (2004), Mike is survived by his father Walter J (Hazel) wife of 51 years Patricia A His kids: MaryGail (Keith), Richard J, Danae, Denise (Dave), and many more family members from a brother, a sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, and every person that has been adopted into our family by blood, marriage or other.
