Robert Jones

March 18, 1940 - November 7, 2017

Robert Glynne Jones, 77 passed away on November 7, 2017 in Vancouver, Washington.  Robert was born on March 18, 1940 in Los Gatos, California to Beatrice Kilburn (Wilson) and Horace Glynne Jones.  

Robert was quite athletic in his youth, running marathons, playing golf, basketball, softball, and bowling.  He played on church and recreational basketball and softball teams well into his 50’s.  Even after his health no longer would allow him to participate, he continued to follow his favorite sports teams, the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and the Portland Trailblazers.  He also enjoyed board games and card games; including Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Clue, and Rummy.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

His greatest joy was his family; he would do anything for his loved ones.

Robert was a warehouse man for United Grocers for quite a few years before he went on to work in the Engineering Dept. of Bonneville Power Administration until he retired.

He is survived by his children, Jaclyn Werner and Donald Jones; step-children Bryon Strickland and Tary Glock; siblings Stephen Jones, Richard Jones and Jeanette Ogburn; and seven Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by His parents, Beatrice Wilson and Horace Jones, and his step-mother, Betty Jones.  A private celebration of life with friends and family will be held.
