Obituary of Douglas R Myers-Funk
Douglas R Myers-Funk
September 19, 1964 ~ January 7, 2018
As you read this, please realize that I have had time to think about this and to write it out myself.
I was lucky enough to be married to Wayne Kay Funk for 27 years. And, Wayne’s family showed me nothing but love and compassion through those years.
I was born in Vancouver, WA on September 19, 1964. I was really lucky to have had two mothers and a father. My father was Delbert Myers and my mothers were Dorothy Freimuth Myers and Elaine Freimuth Herrera. And, I also had 10 brothers and sisters.
I went to Hudsons Bay High School. And, I was known around town and throughout school as the Class Clown.
From my later teen years up until now, as I write this, I have spent most of my life doing charitable work within the LGBTQ community as well as for various organizations within the local community. I have even worked with the Local Eagles, and was Worthy President for the Eagles Lodge 2158. And would give the shirt off of my back to anyone in need.
I would like to thank my Home Care team. Wayne Funk, Shawna Funk, Shelia Ayers, and the team at Community Home Health and Hospice. God knows that I didn’t make it easy on any of them.
