So sorry for your loss. So many wonderful memories of her my last three high school years. So smart, so talented! Wish we could have shared our mutual love for dogs and agility in our later years. Rest in peace, keeping family and friends in my heart.

Well Janet, I am so sorry we lost contact over the years
I have warm memories of you from our days in the Chemistry Dept at Western Washington University up in Bellingham. You were a beautiful, delightful person and I was really fond of you. I remember well how you had a passion for running and that your strength carried over into your determination to get into medical school. Most of all, Janet, you were always devoted to your friends- One of many examples was when I was away in Europe and you personally delivered my MS thesis for me to the graduate school at Western.

Janet was an amazing person. We had a lot of fun together. I'm sorry to have lost contact with her. She was someone I would have liked to thank. I've thought of her often over the years and will over many more. I'm sorry I missed the chance to tell her and say goodbye. Much love Janet, I hope you are in a good place.

I first met Janet in the early part of our road bike racing career. She joined our Mt. Baker Bicycle Club racing team and immediately showed everyone how strong she was.
Janet had many qualities that I will always remember. She had amazing strength, and was passionate about the things she loved in her life, and she was in school more than anyone I know. Janet was the definition of determination.
Although we didn't see each other often after our bike racing days our paths continued to cross once we both lived in Oregon. She was the kind of person that you could see and no matter how long it had been we would settle in to our friendship again like time had never passed.
I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of Janet's last month with her (and her dogs and cows) in her beautiful log cabin looking out over Mt. St. Helens. It was the most peaceful place you could spend time in. She had some amazing energy and I will always hold those days close to my heart.
Thank you Janet for showing me what true courage is. You were such a good friend and I will miss you so much.

Janet . . . so many memories of wonderful you. The one that stands out the most is Mrs. Monroe's 2nd grade class. We were both "new kids", you, from Santa Barbara and me, from Seattle, and both of us with July birthdays. I remember you telling me that you would never, ever miss a day of school because you wanted perfect attendance. I remember you introducing me to Pippi Longstocking books. I always felt you were a lot like her. And how you ate Fritos with ketchup, which is actually quite tasty! You were driven to succeed, yet always had a kind heart, were always there to help others, and had a deep empathy for whomever needed it. May you rest in peace, my friend.

Very saddened to hear this. From a high school friend and fellow runner. We ran many miles together. Still remember when your horse decided to brush me off on a nearby tree. Also enjoyed flying with you and your dad to the World's Fair in Spokane.

Janet was one of the kindest, most generous individuals I’ve ever had the honor of calling friend. I have fond memories of camping and hanging out in my teen years with Janet. She was an awesome “big sister”. I cannot believe she is gone. I loved her and Mom K Very much.

Having run many miles on the roads around Ferndale with Janet and the rest of the FHS "running gang," I enjoyed her laughter and that bit of edginess that made her a successful student, athlete, and Doctor. We had many good times! My heart has sunk, today.
