Vancouver - Sidney LaMoine Jones, 81, died Thursday, April 16th 2015 at the Prestige Care & Rehabilitation – Camas following a lengthy illness. He leaves to cherish his memory his friend, Marjorie Elaine Jones and his two sons, Mark Thompson Jones and his wife Lynn Jones, and Michael Bruce Jones, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Born in Barron County, Wisconsin December 30, 1933 to Dora Pearl (Buxton) Jones and Erwin David Jones.
A man of true honor and valor, Sid was a devoted Son, dedicated Father, committed citizen and true friend to those who knew and loved him.
A 16 year Army Veteran earning the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star in Vietnam. Sid continued his career with the United States Government working for the IRS as a field Auditor, retiring after another 16 years of service.
Sid held a lifelong passion for competition rifle shooting, competing numerous times at Camp Perry Ohio, was a member of the US Army’s Marksmanship Unit, and a member of the Clark Rifles Shooting Club.
The world lost an amazing man, but heaven gained a wonderful soul. He will be cherished and missed by all who knew him.
