EDWARD "ROCKY" JESUS ZAVALA
January 16, 1923 ~ April 19, 2015
Edward Jesus Zavala, aka Ed Savala and "Rocky" Savella died on 4/19/2015. Born on 1/16/1923 he is survived by 4 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; being preceded in death by his grandson, Randy Bister.
Always an eccentric, free-spirit; Rocky lived his dreams. Industrious and creative; Rocky loved wood-working, and succeeded in constructing a 36 foot yacht, with help from his children. After serving in the army during WWII; he went on to pursue his love of music, performing for many years as a night club singer, under the name Eddie Demarco. Rocky loved all sports, but especially boxing.
Always physically fit and active, Rocky stayed busy with building projects around his house, right up until he suffered a stroke in 2010. Rocky has left a lasting impression on his family and friends; he will be missed.
Rocky's family wishes to thank the staff of Nurse's Family Home and Community Home Health and Hospice for their love and care.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 3, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. at Marine Park in Vancouver. Everyone is welcome to attend.
