I always admired and respected Art. I had the privilege of working with him 1970-72 as the Home Economist/4-H agent in Dayton before heading for grad school. He was always very helpful and supportive. I admired how he always looked out for "his farmers" and was the epitome of a good County Agent. His work on yellow star thistle was amazing. He will be greatly missed by those who worked with him.

Paul and family,
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. As a kid growing up in Pomeroy and attending 4-H camp at Camp Wooten on the Tucannon with your dad and Dick Brown as the County Agents will always be a cherished memory for me as a kid. Of course my family's association with your folks, our relationships at WSU (AGR fraternity) as well as our careers in Extension will always leave a special place in my life. He and your mom were gracious people … they left such a positive mark on my life … John
