Obituary of Roberta G. Schoenfeld
Roberta "Bobbye" Schoenfeld
Vancouver, Washington
December 24, 1926 ~ December 15, 2018
Roberta “Bobbye” Schoenfeld died December 15, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born in Oklahoma City, daughter of Dallas and Thelma Gray. She lived in Oklahoma City until she graduated from high school, and moved to Weslaco, TX with her family. She attended secretarial school while in Texas and completed one year at Oklahoma A & M (now Oklahoma State). In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert G. Schoenfeld (they were known to their friends as Bob and Bobbye). They made their home in Oklahoma City until moving to Fairbanks, Alaska during the Korean War. They returned to Oklahoma City for several years before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1958. Roberta raised five children while working as the office manager of their company, Schoenfeld Clinical Laboratories. Roberta and Bob travelled extensively, and took up bike riding in their 60’s where they made many great friends. She loved travel and adventure, and learned to fly small planes (including learning aerobatics). She flew from Albuquerque to Canada on her own, and also flew with Bob to southern Mexico in their small plane. She even went sky diving and bungee jumping. In 2016, Roberta and Bob celebrated 70 years of marriage (Bob passed away earlier this year). Roberta loved making friends and helping others, and was well-loved in the Assisted Living facility where she and Bob moved 3 years ago. She is survived by 5 children, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren and remembered by many dear friends at Glenwood Assisted Living and in her long-time home, Albuquerque.
