Katie Morrison passed away on February 6, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born in Westport, MN on the family farm to Arthur and Lucille Gallinger. She had many wonderful memories of growing up on that farm. She married her husband Clinton H “Bud” Morrison in front of a beautiful Christmas tree on December 23, 1941 at her pastor’s home. Katie and Bud celebrated 68 years o marriage before he passed in May of 2010. They spent the last years of their marriage in Vancouver, WA and Woodland, WA.
Katie had different jobs throughout the years but her favorite was being a dedicated housewife and mother. She prided herself on running the household ad helping Bud with his aviation business at Pearson Airport. Until the last couple of months she played the piano beautifully and had never had a lesson. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting many an afghan. Katie shared Bud’s love of flying and traveled with him at every chance. In 1959 she took flying lessons and even soloed before family responsibility stopped her.
Surviving are her four sons, Terry (Denise) of Gig Harbor, WA, Darby (Kris) of Vancouver, WA, Randy (Robin) of Washougal, WA ad Kelly of Kelso, WA; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Almost Like Home. Bonnie, Nicole and Joe gave her such wonderful attention there and they grew very close to Katie. We are so grateful to know that she was looked after with such care
