Obituary of Sherry S. Beebe
Sherod (Sherry) S. Sanders Beebe
Sherry Beebe, 69, of Kelso passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center. A Longview resident since 1969, she was born on June 20, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to Col. Sheldon S. Brinson and Frances O. Brinson. A beautiful and caring woman who was loved by many. To know her was to love her.
Sherry grew up traveling with her mother and father. She attended Upper Heyford High School in England, where she enjoyed playing tennis and horseback riding. She graduated 9th in her class in 1967. She then attended college at the University of South Florida and graduated in 1968. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Samuel (Sam) Beebe who was stationed in the Army at Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They were married on October 10, 1968 at Fort Walton Beach.
In 1969 they moved to Sam’s hometown of Longview. They raised two daughters and then adopted a third daughter in 1985. Sherry was quick to make friends and opened her home to all and hosting many gatherings. Sherry was a devoted wife and dedicated Stay-at-Home Mom to her 3 girls and beloved dogs.
Sherry loved cooking, music, traveling and spending time with friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her home was always a place where all were welcomed. There was never a shortage of friends and family by her side. Sam and Sherry were members of a jeep club; they golfed and enjoyed rafting the Deschutes River, snowmobiling and trips to the casino with friends. Their home was a legendary stopping point for friends and family during the 4th of July celebrations and many pool parties. Sherry enjoyed many other things: reading mystery novels, scotch, gin, crossword puzzles, KFC, milkshakes, Jerry Springer, playing Beer Pong with her grandchildren, feeding deer in her yard and was lovingly known and teased by her family as a “Pioneer of The Home Shopping Network”.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Sheldon S. Brinson (1988) and her husband Sam (2013). She is survived by her three daughters, Katherine Beebe-Baum (Benjamin) of Longview; Samantha Hart (Doug) of Kelso; Jacqueline Massey (Randy) of Rainier; 6 grandchildren: Chris Hart, Mika Woodruff, Madison Anderson (Cory), Sam Hart, Katelyn Massey and Nathaniel Massey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as her good friend/care-giver, Rebecca Kennedy and countless other friends and family.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 11am - 3 pm on Saturday, June 8th at the Kelso-Longview Elks No.1482 (located at 900 Ash Street in Kelso). Family and friends are welcomed to attend any time between 11-3 and at their convenience.
