September 3, 1933 – May 18, 2019
Greg Koehler passed away peacefully at home Saturday May 18, 2019 at the age of 85 with his wife and stepdaughters by his side.
Greg was the only son to Rudolph Christian Koehler and Marth Mary Entwissle in Alameda, CA. He graduated from Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, CA in his class of 1951. Greg humbly served in the United States Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic and was a veteran of the Korean War 1954-1958. Greg worked in various roles within the electrical field for over 40 years at the following; Oregon Breakers, Christenson Electric, Siemens Energy & Automation, I.T.E., Brown-Boveri, Gould Inc. and Westinghouse. Greg was for many years, a highly skilled field service trouble shooter who was called upon by his employers to job sites, far and wide, to quickly solve complex electrical problems, He was lucky to have enjoyed his long career and made many wonderful friends over the years.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cynthia Koehler; his two sons, Karl H Koehler(Marley) of Woodway, WA and Edward R Koehler of Blanchard OK; two stepdaughters Jennifer L Bell of Vancouver WA and Rebecca A Morris (Kevin) of Brush Prairie, WA; and cherished grandchildren Andrew, Annabelle, Gabriel, Jonah, Kenley.
Greg thoroughly enjoyed all dogs, but especially his own which regularly brought him a lot of comfort and laughter. Greg like being outdoors, gardening, hunting and was a devoted baseball fan. He had a love for Jazz music and knew his way around the dance floor where he met Cynthia. He was an avid history buff and loved to read. He enjoyed traveling for work and for fun and loved the time he spent adventuring with his wife. Greg greatly enjoyed his beer and scotch along with visiting many friends and family while telling stories and sharing memories. He had a unique sense of humor, loved to laugh and will be truly missed by all that knew him.
