Paul’s father died of meningitis when he was five; his mother supported the two of them as a dental nurse during the trying times of the Great Depression.
Paul lived his young years mainly in Ontario, California, except for several school years in Mt. Lowe Military Academy in Alta Loma. After high school at Chaffey, California Paul joined the Naval Reserve and served on an ammunition ship in Korea. He was proud of his service and loved to recall “navy stories”. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Paul attended Chaffey Junior College and began a career with Sears Roebuck that lasted until his retirement in February of 1990.
In 1953 Paul meet his future wife Sandra, who was attending Scripps College in Claremont, California. Paul loved laughing, golf, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed making model ships and working on his computer. Most of all, he loved his family, who returned that love in great measure. He passed away on December 7, 2019.
