Obituary of Catherine Ann Brewster

Catherine Ann McGee Brewster, 83, known as Penny by all who knew and loved her, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2020 surrounded by her loving husband and children. Penny was born March 11, 1937 in San Francisco, California to John and Catherine McGee. She married Jim Brewster August 28, 1954 and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on May 21, 1971. Together they had four children. Penny loved to camp and travel, going on many cruises with her family was a favorite past time. Penny and Jim loved the Oregon coast and spent many summers as camp hosts at Oregon State Parks. In 2000, Penny and Jim moved to Vancouver, Washington to be near their children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and held many callings including missionary work at the Oregon Temple and Food Storehouse. Penny was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her devoted husband Jim; brother, Timothy McGee; her children David, Diane (Beth Tate), Richard (Nancy), Paul (Cassie); 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Penny will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. No services will be held per her wishes.
