Obituary of Minnie Jean Wylie

Minnie Jean Wylie Vancouver, Washington October 28, 1930 ~ September 15, 2020 She was born Dominica Jean Colatorti in Portland. Minnie lived in the Italian neighborhood of Southeast Portland near St. Phillips Parrish. Her mother died when Minnie was 7 and she lived with her father and older sister Rose. In Minnie's teen years she moved to Viento to live with her older sister Antionette and her family when her father passed away. She attended and graduated from Hood River High. That's where she met her future husband, Bill Wylie. Bill was looking for adventure and they moved to Alaska in 1959. Their only child, Cheryl, was born in 1961. Bill died in his private plane in 1968 while moose hunting. She then returned to work at First National Bank of Anchorage. Starting as a teller and working her way up to an Assistant Vice President in the Operations department. Minnie moved back to Portland in the 1990's to be closer to her family. She loved her retirement job of being a beloved grandmother to Kylie, John and Max. She will be missed tremendously by countless friends and family. She survived by daughter Cheryl Dorotik (Dean) and 3 grandchildren. Nieces Sharon Whalen, Dena Hutchens and Margaret Whalen. Proceeded in death by husband Bill, sisters Antionette and Rose and brothers Mike, Nick and Joe. In her memory the family requests to please wear a mask to protect the elderly from Covid.
