As long as I can remember my brother David loved gardening and when I was first married, he helped Fred and I with the landscaping of our first home. We didn't know what we were doing, so he literally gave us a tree and plant list and made it a follow by number drawing. He knew so much about plants and trees, so he had us going to all of these nurseries trying to find common and uncommon ones. I learned so much from him during that time and was hoping he was going to help us design and landscape our 5 acres that we bought a few years ago. Sadly, he won't be here physically to see the outcome, but in memory of my brother, we are going to plant a Chocolate Silk Summer Tree on 2 of the acres. They get quite tall and have the most fragrant pink flowers.
David knew how much I love those trees and when mine died a few years ago, I was so sad and he told me to plant another one someday on our new property. Next year, we will be able to do this and he would have been proud!
