Please share a memory of Keith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Keith Charles "KC" Thompson, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 8, 2022.
Keith was born July 13, 1955, in Spirit Lake, Idaho. He graduated from Mary Walker High School in Springdale, Washington, in 1974. He began a career in auto and heavy diesel mechanics after earning an associate's degree from Spokane Community College. Keith later found his calling in law enforcement and became an Adams County Deputy Sheriff in 1989. Keith joined the Battle Ground Police Department in 1999 where he served as a patrol officer before spending three years in the Detective Unit. Prior to retiring in 2011, Keith transferred back to patrol as he felt it was the heart and soul of the department.
Keith was a loving, attentive and supportive father to his children throughout their lives. As a grandfather, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and would often be seen taking them for rides on his motorcycle, horses or lawn tractor and he regularly attended their sporting events and recitals.
Keith enjoyed golf and shared his family's passion for horse racing. He would often help his brother, Mike, at the racetrack. He enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, Connie and after retiring, the couple wintered in Casa Grande, Arizona, escaping the rain of the Pacific Northwest. They found great enjoyment in playing pickleball and were on the courts nearly every morning.
Keith was a hard-working man with great integrity. He was always willing to help a neighbor or friend and would drop everything for his family. Keth battled terminal pancreatic cancer for nearly a year, never giving up hope and always with a smile. His participation in painful clinical trials and wanting to help doctor find a cure for others was a testament to his incredible selfless character. He will be missed by all those who loved him, both family and friends.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Leigh and Eleanor Thompson; sister, Merrrilee (Glenn) Sylte; niece, Glenda Sylte. He is survived by his Wife, Connie Thompson, daughter, Lisa (Brett) Mackey; son, Scott Thompson; daughter, Alicia (Jason) Beach; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mikaila, and Tanner Mackey, Mikinley and Harper Thompson, Evangelina Skelley, Hailey Murdoch; brother, Robert (Donna) Thompson and Mike (Sharon) Thompson; sister, Darlene Thompson; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
