John Kohlenberger was one of the truest friends I have ever known. His enormous talents were surpassed only by his humility and love of serving others.
John inspired and equipped Christians around the globe with his expansive biblical and linguistic genius—always at the service of the marginalized. We at Christians for Biblical Equality will always be grateful for the biblical clarity John bestowed in his support of women’s leadership even at a time when his was a minority voice.
Words cannot express my thankfulness for the privilege of knowing him as a colleague and friend.

What a blessing it has been to have served on the CBE Board with John and to see first hand what an impact he had on that organization. I treasure the Bibles I have which came from him and all that I learned from him about the Word. Truly he has left a legacy which will be remembered.

I am grateful to God that John is now free of pain, and that he lives in the light of the Lord's unfathomable love. I pray for the comfort of his family and many friends. John's life was marked by a deep desire to provide original tools for believers to utilize in their study of Scripture.
