Richard K. Hart ~ 54
Vancouver, Washington
September 19, 1961 ~ December 8, 2015
Richard Kevin Hart was born September 19,1961 in Medford Oregon and grew up in Portland OR and Vancouver WA
On 12/8/15, at 2:33 pm, he was rewarded for his fine work here on earth with an offer for his next adventure that he couldn't refuse - shedding his painful and worn-out body for a reunion with waiting family members he had not seen in a long time including his paternal grandparents, Richard Hart, after whom he was named, and had never met, and Mildred Thames, and his maternal grandparents, Carlton Abbott, and Oletha Abbott.
If you knew Rich, you know how much he loved his family - his teenage sweetheart, wife and best friend, Shawn, children - Jacquie, Calvin and Jordan, beloved grandchildren - Brooklyn and Silas who all survive him. He loved his brother, Michael Hart and sister, Diane Hart Sines who remember so many fun times and lessons. He was a loving and devoted son to Sharon Furze and stepdad, Gary Furze who were privileged to have him in their home during the last six weeks of his life. He worked with and loved his father, Lloyd Hart who is one of those hugging him now. He is also with cousins, aunts, uncles and even some friends. He is survived by much loved nieces and nephews, cousins, dear aunts and uncles and others who are feeling the loss deeply. He is so loved.
He received a degree and worked in Land surveying in both Vancouver and Las Vegas, NV where he had lived for the last 16 years. He loved his work and excelled in it, receiving numerous awards of achievement and recognition in both Las Vegas and Vancouver with streets named after him in the Del Webb Community where he worked in Henderson NV, and also in Vancouver WA. In his job, he accumulated some fun stories, including several about he and Tony Curtis and the privilege of golfing with Jack Nicklaus, checking out a new course where he was working at the time.
Rich felt very blessed and helped by many others during his life and we're sure it would be his wish that when you think of him, celebrate in your own way. Remember his tender, loving nature and do something kind and unsolicited for someone else. Remember how much he loved a good joke and his wonderful mind and laugh and tell someone a good joke or smile at someone.
Rich is finally at rest and we hold him lovingly within our hearts - forever. Please hold he and his family close in your mind and spirit as well.
Long live all the love and lessons we learned from you, Dear Rich. We will never forget. Enjoy your journey!
Rich loved family and friend reunions and we'll announce a celebration of his life at a future date.
