Obituary of Wanda Mae Nichol
Please share a memory of Wanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On November 27, 2016, we lost our beloved wife and mother, Wanda Mae Ellsbury Nichol, at the age of 68. Wanda passed away due to unforeseen medical complications. She is survived by her loving and devoted friend and husband, David Marquis Nichol.
In 1967, Wanda and Dave chose the hymn, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” for their wedding ceremony. Her friendship with Christ continued to be her greatest devotion throughout her life.
Wanda and Dave shared their lives with three children: Michelle Ann Davis, Marquis Andrew Nichol, and Stephanie Lyn Wengel. They enjoyed spending time with their eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Daniel Ellsbury, her mother, Patricia Jean Ellsbury, and her brother Marvin David Ellsbury.
Wanda loved her family, genealogy, and traveling the backroads with Dave. She had adventures too numerous to count, and she was loved by many. A memorial service has yet to be planned but will take place in the hills of South Dakota when the wildflowers bloom in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made in her name to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of her father, Marvin Daniel Ellsbury, who passed away at the age of 38. https://donate.lls.org/donate

We thank each of you for the love and care you gave to Wanda. For those who were close to her, and knew of the medical struggles she endured throughout her life, lean heavily on Paul’s letter to Timothy, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness.”
