GEORGE PEARSON
August 17, 1928 – February 6, 2017
George Pearson, 88, of Vancouver, WA died on February 6, 2017. He was born on August 17, 1928 in Garnet, Kansas, to Noah L. Pearson and Bernice (Hildebrand) Pearson.
George served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 as a Commissaryman Seaman, serving in the Korean War. While stationed in Rhode Island he met his wife and they were married on November 27, 1954. George loved his family and his grandchildren.
George held various management positions at Ft. Vancouver Plywood, Crown Zellerbach Plywood, The Columbian, RFD Publications, Portland Mailing Bureau, and Northwest Packing.
George loved his dog Lucy. He enjoyed working in the yard and putting up his annual Christmas display for all to see.
George is survived by his wife Alice and his children Karen Pearson of Vancouver, Kathleen (Ron) Fuller of Warner Robins, Georgia, Kevin (Kim) Pearson of Vancouver, Brian (Kari) Pearson of Milwaukie, Oregon, and Sharon (Jim) West, Vancouver. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister; and daughter Marilyn in 2016.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12 noon at East Park Church, 15815 NE 18th Street, Vancouver, WA. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice, Hospice Care Center, 3102 NE 134th Street, Vancouver, WA 98686; or to St. Vincent de Paul, 2456 NE Stapleton Road, Vancouver, WA 98661.
