Joanna and I played many of the same venues. On my nights off, I would go and listen to her. I ❤️ her version of 'Frog Kissing'. My heart is sad to learn of her passing. Condolences to her family.

I am so sad to hear about Joanna's passing today. Cory, (my husband who passed away in 2006) and I for many years worked in the sound and video department at the Living Enrichment Center. We became good friends with Joanna and David. Joanna, when she wasn't singing, was always full of laughter. Her joy and talent was infectious. I am so very grateful to of known them both...

Oh, sad news. I went to look her up online and instead found this. I’ve known them both since 1990 but we lost touch after the 2000’s.
I still have her music and her memory in my heart.
Much love....

I first heard Joanna at Living Enrichment Center. She was truly the musical center of that church.
Though I was just one of the many people passing her by as serves were ending, she was always very kind and had sense of humor... I always found it strange that, as a devotee to Heavy Metal, I could enjoy her so much. I frequently suggested she mighty try to work some Rush, or Iron Maiden into next weeks set... She found this as funny as I did, and would quip something to the effect of "Were working out some Metallica right now... But we'll see what we can do..."

I first met Joanna Burns in 1992 while she played at a motel in Beaverton. It was her voice and clear diction that attracted me ... I could clearly hear every words she sang She was a warm person whom everybody loved. She was generous and came to our church in Toronto for our small congregation. We last visited her in 2008 and will miss Joanna but will continue to love her in memory with cassette tapes and CD's.
