Joanna B. Miller
February 25, 1942 - March 27, 2018
Joanna Burns Miller, 76, passed away on March 27, 2018 in Vancouver, Washington. She was born on February 25, 1942 in Portland, Oregon to Marilyn Joyce (Mainella) and Elmo Finley. The Finley family was a traditional Italian family, and large family meals and get togethers were part of her childhood and early adulthood and are remembered fondly by the family.
She loved music and frogs, in fact she named her record label was Little Pond Productions. Joanna was fortunate enough to do what she loved for a living. She was an accomplished songwriter and singer. Many of her songs are still sung today in churches in the area. Some are like “Desert Flower” and “Remember Me” are still being sold today.
She was active in her church, the Unity Church of Portland. Her husband and the love of her life, David Miller was the sound engineer at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Miller in 2010.
She is survived by her sister, Diane C. Finely Moore and brother-in-law Greg Moore and brother Mick Finley, Niece Jennifer Crawford and Nephew Jeremy Mainella.
She will be placed with her beloved husband David at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
