I was sorry to hear of this Tommy was one of my many first cousins. My dad was Ray Knox, one of Gloria's brothers I grew up in Des Moines, IA. I do not remember Tommy's mother as she passed when I was quite young. I spent many summers as a young boy at our Grandparents farm near Madrid IA with a bunch of cousins. Also many Christmas and Thanksgivings. What I do remember very well is that Grandma talked about Tommy often.
So sorry to hear of your loss Also sorry I wasn't able to get to know him better.

Hello Gayle and family:
My name is Karen Van Hoy and I was a classmate of Tom's at Jackson. It was sad to get a phone call today saying that Tom had passed away. It was good to see Tom two years ago at the annual class picnic we have at Sellwood park.
Several years ago when I started to organize the class picnics I wrote a story about Tom that I would like to send you. In the mean time, here are some of the comments that I've received after sending the word about Tom to some classmates on Facebook with me:
Here leaves us a gentle soul, a grand whit, a man who left those around him at ease, or so was my experience with Tom. I think I saw Tom only twice in the last 40 years and there it was each time, the wry smile, taking life by the minute. -Robert Marjerrison

I did know him well and was one of the people I loved in high school. He was the only one of my close friends I never could find. Very sad for me. - Brian Peterson

Oh Karen, this is so sad. Tom was one of those guys who was so nice and kind to everyone, and was well liked and respected by those who knew him. Although I did not know him well, he was always nice to me. I am glad I got to see him at our picnic. So sorry to hear this news. - Fran Vlahos-Rohm
+++++
Again, my condolences to all of you.
Be well-
Karen
