I am so sorry for your loss. I found Dan's obituary while searching for him online, hoping to reconnect after 41 years. I was in the Army in Germany with Dan and during that time we were nearly inseparable. I recently moved to southeast Alaska and spend some time in the northwest Washington area, so I hoped to look him up. Somehow I always thought there would be time for that, but...
Through the years I have thought of him often, and I will continue to do so.
Sadly,
Sam

Chris,
We lost a truly great man last weekend. Dan was one of a kind! His humor was always in play, even in his final days. You did such a great job taking care of him and I know he was truly appreciative of the love and care you tirelessly gave. He was a great uncle to our children, a great brother-in-law to Roger and I, and one of the funniest people I knew.
He was our hero when he saved Roger's mom from a fall several years ago, and treated his folks like his own, with so much love. He was my life line in every trivia question that had to do with history or sports, and I will miss his voice, his look that often said it all, and everything about him.
With much love,
Your sissy, Carolyn
